Shariah-based unit trusts are Shariah-compliant collective investment schemes in which investors pool their funds together to invest in a diversified portfolio of assets.
The Framework of Shariah-based Unit Trusts:
Public Mutual offers more than 60 Shariah-based unit trust funds. These funds are spread across four categories, namely Islamic equity, mixed asset/balanced, sukuk and money market funds to cater to our investors’ varying needs and risk appetites.
You may select fund(s) from the following fund categories:
Islamic Equity Funds
- Invest mainly in the equity markets
- Aim to achieve capital growth
- Distributions are incidental
Dividend-focused Islamic Equity Funds
- Invest mainly in the equity markets
- Aim to provide income
- Distributions are on an annual/semi-annual basis
Islamic Mixed Asset/Balanced Funds
- Invest in Islamic equities, sukuk and/or money market instruments
- Aim to achieve capital growth and/or provide annual income
- Distributions may be incidental or on an annual/semi-annual basis
Sukuk Funds
- Invest mainly in the sukuk markets
- Aim to provide annual income
- Distributions are on an annual basis
Islamic Money Market Funds
- Invest in Islamic money market instruments and deposits
- Aim to provide liquidity and current income while maintaining capital stability
- Distributions are on a monthly or annual basis
