Sustainable & Responsible Investing

Sustainability is embedded in Public Mutual’s values as the premier private unit trust and Private Retirement Scheme (PRS) provider in Malaysia, where we state, among other corporate values, that we aim to deliver long-term value to all our stakeholders by focusing on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) aspects in the business direction while protecting stakeholders’ interests as a whole.

Responsible investing is one of the main themes under Public Mutual’s sustainability initiatives and encompasses 2 key strategies:

Comprising investments in ESG-qualified securities as well as monitoring, engaging and exercising proxy voting rights in relation to the ESG aspects of our investee companies.

Public Mutual currently offers 7 SRI funds, comprising of 6 retail SRI funds: Public e-Islamic Sustainable Millennial Fund (launched on 5 November 2019), Public e-Carbon Efficient Fund (launched on 9 February 2021), PB Sustainable Growth Fund (launched on 5 September 2023), Public Islamic Regional ESG Fund (launched on 7 November 2023); Public Islamic Global Sustainable Growth Fund (launched on 20 February 2024) and Public Islamic Sustainable Growth Fund (launched on 4 June 2024); as well as a wholesale SRI fund: Public e-Wholesale Sustainable 20 Fund (launched on 5 July 2022).
